Custom Built Homes
When you decide to build a home of your own design, it is important to have a team working with you to help you realize your goal. Apart from the custom home builder, your team could comprise an architect or home designer, a local council advisor, a landscaper and perhaps also a banker. Cohesion among team members is very important if the design and construction of your new home is going to proceed smoothly and reach the desired outcome within budget and on schedule.
We have worked closely with architects and both understand, and appreciate, their approach. A good working relationship with your architect helps us bring your home design into reality. Having been involved in the building industry for years, our experience enables us to provide practical advice not only on home design, but also building materials.
It is also vital that we understand your needs and desires. We can help you decide on quality finishes and inclusions and can install custom-made joinery for your bathroom vanity units or kitchen cupboards. Built-in buffet units can also be tailored to blend in with the rest of the furnishings. Where appropriate we can also advise on incorporating different materials such as stone and timber to create interesting textures and finishes.
These days home owners don’t just want highest quality materials, they want their home built to the highest standard of workmanship. As builders we are very conscious not only of the costs of purchasing materials and fittings, but also of the labour costs associated with fitting and installing them. This knowledge puts us in an excellent position to help you keep the construction of your new home within budget. We can provide you real value, quality and choice by helping you choose joinery, feature lighting, cabinetry finishes and tiling without breaking the bank.
Extending homes is a significant part of our business and we pride ourselves on our demonstrated ability to convert a home which, for some reason, is too small, or otherwise not of the design that the owner now wants. Maybe empty-nesters need more room and decide to convert what used to be children’s bedrooms into a large lounge room. Or maybe they want to convert the back patio into an outdoor entertainment area complete with a sunroof, built-in barbeque, entertainment unit and bar. Another possibility is that someone bought a home that is in a good location and gave them most, but not all, of the features they wanted.
Unlike the construction of a new home, transforming an existing home can sometimes have obstacles. Depending on the nature and extent of the modifications, it may be necessary to take into account not only the structural limitations of the existing home, but also the location of the services, for example the water, gas and electrical reticulation. It may therefore be necessary to engage a structural engineer to advise on the best approach. It would also be wise to consult with, as necessary, registered plumbers, gasfitters and electricians. If you are planning on installing solar panels, specialists are also able to advise you on the best positions to fit them.
With experience we are conscious of the costs of purchasing and fitting materials and fittings, so we are able to help you keep your home extension within your budget.
We are here to help transform your vision into a reality.
